Deadline: March 21, 2010
Concern Worldwide is an international humanitarian organization dedicated to reducing suffering and ending extreme poverty. It is asking students ages 12 and older to imagine themselves standing at the podium at the United Nations General Assembly, before a hushed and attentive audience of world leaders as they deliver a speech that could change the world. Being as creative as possible, students are asked to address one of the eight Millennium Development Goals. The contest has junior and senior divisions, with appropriate prizes. Essays must be submitted online. Winners will be announced in May 2010 and published in a competition book.
