Sally is a third generation Washingtonian, a DCPS graduate, and was a social studies teacher on the original faculty of the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, a DCPS magnet high school. At Ellington, she helped develop its arts-integrated, multicultural academic curriculum, and organized her first student exchange to the Caribbean. She also has extensive experience in non-profit management, with a focus on health and youth leadership organizations. Among her non-profit positions, Ms. Schwartz served as Executive Director of the Foundation for Critical Care, Super Leaders, and the Health Equal Access League of DC; she also served as Administrator of the Presidential Legal Expense Trust of President and Mrs. Clinton. Sally earned her A.B. degree in government from Cornell University, an M.A. in history from Howard University, with additional graduate and professional studies at the Johns Hopkins and the George Washington Universities.
